Lakewood Councilmember Jeff Wood appointed to Earthquake Insurance Board

Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) has appointed Jeff Wood of Lakewood to serve on the Governing Board of the California Earthquake Insurance Authority.

Wood, whose professional experience includes risk management, emergency management, business continuity, and occupational safety and health, has been a member of the Lakewood City Council since 2011.

“Whether serving on the Lakewood City Council or volunteering for state and local organizations, Jeff Wood has a long history of civic involvement,” Rendon said. “That involvement, coupled with his professional experience, makes him an outstanding choice to serve on the Governing Board of the California Earthquake Authority and oversee its efforts to protect Californians.”

“I am excited and honored to be appointed to the California Earthquake Authority Governing Board by Speaker Rendon,” Wood said. “I look forward to utilizing my emergency and risk management experiences and knowledge to protect Californians. I am grateful to Speaker Rendon for his confidence in me to serve on the Governing Board.”

The California Earthquake Authority, established in 1996, helps California homeowners and renters through earthquake risk and preparedness education, mitigation, and residential earthquake insurance policies. The non-profit authority is privately funded and publicly managed.
